44th Plenary Assembly of the WFUNA

United Nations Association of New Zealand was represented by Alyn Ware and Joy Dunsheath at the 44th Plenary Assembly of the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA), bringing together United Nations Associations from around the world.
Across the week, Alyn and Joy contributed to plenary proceedings, regional discussions and the wider work of the WFUNA movement.
One significant outcome was the adoption by consensus of a resolution sponsored by UNA New Zealand.
Enhancing the work of the UN Security Council through strengthened alignment to the UN Charter and enhanced cooperation with the UN General Assembly and International Court of Justice.
The resolution was co-sponsored by UNA Australia, UNA Netherlands, UNA Sri Lanka, UNA Switzerland, UNA-UK and UNA Fiji, with further co-sponsors joining during the plenary session.
