Secondary School Public Speaking Award 2019

The United Nations Association of New Zealand has held Regional Secondary School Speech Awards for over thirty years and the National finals are held in conjunction with our Annual Conference in May. This year the National finals will be held in Wellington on Friday 21 June.

26 March 2019

The Regional finals will be announced soon and are likely to take place in late April. Certificates are awarded to all who participate. The regional winner will then compete in Wellington on Friday 21 June.  Travel expenses to Wellington from the regions will be met.

Students must speak for a minimum of 6 minutes and no longer than 8 minutes and must make a particular reference to the aims, work and aspirations of the United Nations. I suggest that the UN Website www.un.org and UNA NZ website www.unanz.org.nz be explored. Students are encouraged to do their own research though and add their own perspective.

We invite your school to send contestant/s and register online via www.bit.ly/UNANZSpeechAward2019 (an early registration is preferred).
